PPD, the leading team in the project, are privileged to be offered the contract to build, overhaul and upgrade diesel and electric locomotives to New Zealand. It is our honour to be recognised as the first supplier that have successfully exported locomotives made in China to developed countries. Taking New Zealand’s narrow gauge rail into consideration, we have specially accommodated our designs to the local standards and specifications. This DL Class model is one of the biggest power diesel locomotives on narrow gauge in the world. After a successful delivery of the first contract, PPD team was awarded the second contract to supply 20 Diesel Locomotives (Generation II) in 2011, and the third contract to supply 8 Diesel Locomotives (Generation II-2) in 2013, for New Zealand client.
